Mike's 24 hours of bliss!

There’s nothing quite like a full day on the bank. Early Saturday morning, the alarm went off, and with a quick prep, everything was ready for the off. After an hour and a half’s drive, I finally arrived at the pond and made my way straight to my favourite spot — peg 7 — with big plans for the session ahead.

The rods were cast out with chods, each placed precisely at 74 metres near a patch of water lilies. After a few quiet hours soaking in the calm, I decided to make a change — switching over to a slip-D rig with a small wafter and a stick mix made of crushed boilies and 2mm pellets. That decision paid off quickly.

A blistering run brought a big smile to my face. After a spirited fight, a stunning mirror carp lay on the mat. That set the tone — five more bites followed through the session. But the most exciting moment came in the early hours, just as dawn broke — a breathtaking run against the backdrop of a spectacular sunrise. These are the moments I love most.
