
Have you missed us? After a few quiet weeks on our end, we owe you an apology for the radio silence. The show season had us fully immersed in the usual whirlwind of events, travel, and all the chaos that comes with it—but we’re back, and a proper catch-up is long overdue. In this week’s edition of Angling Articles, we’ll be bringing you up to speed on everything we’ve been up to, from show season highlights and behind-the-scenes moments to introducing new team members and, of course, sharing some of the latest catches. Let’s get back into the swing of things.

The show season itself was a huge success, and we genuinely loved every minute of it. Getting the chance to meet so many of you—both familiar faces and those discovering Summit Tackle for the first time—made it all worthwhile. We took real pride in the positive feedback you shared, and nothing beats standing there, talking fishing, and hearing your stories from the bank. Those conversations, the laughs, and the shared passion are exactly what the show season is all about for us—it’s more than just the events, it’s the community behind them that makes it so special.
Roger, our founder, was absolutely thrilled to spend time meeting and chatting with so many of you—whether you’ve supported the brand for years or are just discovering us now. Anyone who spoke with him will know how much he enjoys diving into the details, talking through his designs, and, most importantly, explaining the why behind everything he creates. It’s a real passion of his, and something that makes those conversations all the more meaningful. We also really valued the opportunity to catch up with so many other businesses across the sector—it’s always great to reconnect, share ideas, and be part of such a supportive community. We appreciate every single person who took the time to stop by and be part of it.
Whether it was the Brands Hatch show, The Big One show, or the Doncaster show, we’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who took the time to come and see us. Your support, conversations, and enthusiasm made every event truly memorable, and it means a lot to us. We’re already looking forward to doing it all again next year and hopefully seeing even more of you there.

At the start of the year, we were proud to welcome two exciting new additions to the Summit team, both of which mark important milestones for us as a brand. Westley joins as our very first junior team member, bringing a fresh perspective, enthusiasm, and a real passion for angling at a young age. Alongside him, Leah becomes the first woman to represent Summit—something we’re incredibly proud of and see as a positive step forward.
As a brand, we’ve always believed that fishing is for everyone, and it’s important to us that our team reflects the wide and diverse community that makes this sport what it is. These additions aren’t just about growing the team—they’re about representation, inclusion, and helping to show that there’s a place for anyone in angling, regardless of age or background. We’re confident that having Westley and Leah on board won’t just resonate with those already in the sport, but will also help inspire and encourage more people to pick up a rod, get involved, and feel like they belong within the community.
As for what’s new at Summit Tackle, it’s been a busy and exciting start to the year. We recently launched our fully adjustable Premier Ali Pod, and the response has been incredible—selling out at every single show we attended. To complement the Premier Ali range, we’ve also introduced our new Premier Ali bobbins, along with a selection of coloured thumb screws for both the Premier Ali and Black Edition ranges, as well as stainless steel options too.
There’s plenty more in the pipeline as well. We’ve got a lot of exciting things lined up for the rest of the year, including a few collaborations that we can’t wait to share with you.
