It’s been a busy few weeks for the Summit Tackle team, with Jamie Viney recently taking on the world stage in North Macedonia as he represented England at the World Carp Fishing Championships. We’ll take a look at how Jamie got on, along with a closer look at his latest custom-made rod rest built especially for the event. We’ve also got some great news from Westley, who headed out for a recent carp match and came away with the win, as well as an incredible new UK PB along the way. And finally, we’ll look back at our very first Summit Tackle Social at Ashlyns Lake, bringing the team together for a weekend of fishing, friendship, shared knowledge and plenty of great memories. Plenty to catch up on, so let’s get into it!

It was a huge week for Jamie Viney, representing England at the World Carp Fishing Championships in North Macedonia. Jamie got off to a great start, leading his section early on and fishing really well, but as the match progressed the fish unfortunately backed off and things became increasingly difficult. Across the England team, the other pairs also found it tough, with some pegs simply lacking the fish needed to build a competitive weight, and despite their best efforts, they were unable to piece everything together for a podium finish, eventually finishing 23rd overall.
While the result wasn’t what the team had hoped for, these are the experiences that make you better, and there will certainly be plenty of lessons taken from the week. We’re incredibly proud of Jamie and the whole England team for representing their country on the world stage, and with the next World Championships heading to South Africa next year, we’ll be behind them every step of the way and look forward to supporting them once again.

For Jamie’s trip to North Macedonia, we wanted to create something that would give him complete confidence in his setup, so we designed and hand-assembled a one-off, UK-made stainless steel rod roost, built specifically for his World Championship campaign.
Constructed entirely from stainless steel, the roost is incredibly solid and reliable, giving Jamie the stability he needs to concentrate on his tactics, knowing his rods are secure and ready to go when required. Paired with our Euro Banksticks, the roost can be pushed directly into the ground for maximum stability, while our stainless steel butt rests complete the setup from top to bottom.
This was a completely bespoke build for Jamie, designed around the demands of competitive match fishing and made right here in the UK. If you're a keen match angler and have an idea for a custom rod roost of your own, get in touch with the Summit Tackle team — we'd be happy to discuss what we can build for you.

It’s been an incredible week for our junior team member, Westley, with a fantastic result in the Parker Baits match followed by a new UK personal best. Competing in the Parker Baits event, Westley put together an impressive 196lb 6oz from just eight fish, including a superb 28lb carp, to take the overall win.
And as if winning the match wasn’t enough, Westley also managed to smash his UK PB on a separate session, landing a stunning 37lb common. It’s been an incredible run of form and a week that we’re sure he’ll remember for a long time.
To see our youngest team member achieving results like this is something we’re incredibly proud of. Westley is proving that age is no barrier in competitive fishing, and as a junior he’s helping to pave the way for the next generation of match anglers. His attitude, enthusiasm and commitment make him a fantastic role model for other young anglers coming through the sport.
At such a young age, Westley is already showing huge potential, and results like these are a great indication of what could lie ahead. We’re incredibly proud to have him representing Summit Tackle and can’t wait to see where his fishing takes him next.

What a weekend it was at Ashlyns Lake for the very first Summit Tackle Social! Bringing the Summit Tackle team together for the first event of its kind was a fantastic opportunity to step away from the usual day-to-day and spend some quality time together on the bank.
The weekend was all about fishing, friendship and sharing knowledge, with plenty of tips, advice and experiences exchanged throughout. It was great to put faces to names, strengthen existing friendships and create new ones, all while enjoying our shared passion for fishing and everything Summit Tackle.
Of course, being anglers, there was plenty of focus on the fishing too, with some fantastic fish making their way into the nets throughout the weekend. Everyone headed home with fish caught, new memories made and, no doubt, plenty of stories from the weekend to share.
For us, the most important part of the Social was seeing exactly what makes Team Summit Tackle so special. The passion, camaraderie and willingness to share knowledge and support one another are what we want our team to represent, and the weekend was a brilliant reflection of that.
A special thank you from Francesca, our Team Manager, to everyone who attended and helped make the first Summit Tackle Social such a success. The support, enthusiasm and positive attitude from everyone made the weekend incredibly enjoyable, and it was a genuine pleasure to spend time with the team away from the usual environment.
The first Summit Tackle Social was certainly one to remember, and we’re already looking forward to the next one. More socials, more fish, more laughs and plenty more memories with Team Summit Tackle!
